What Is Ceramic Coatings?

Ceramic coating is a nanoceramic transparent coating that is both permanent and protective in nature. It’s 3D matrix structure protects the surfaces from scratches, graffiti, etching, aging, premature oxidation, weathering, road salt, bugs, bird droppings, brake dust and even acid rain.

This coating can withstand extremely high temperatures and are chemical and corrosion resistant as well. It can be used to provide protection for all automotive factory paint, aftermarket paint and matte finish paints.

You can use it for automotive surfaces including, headlights and tail lights, glass, black plastic bumpers and trim, wheels and painted calipers, suspension components, custom fabricated and painted engine components, chrome, stainless steel, aluminum, paint protection film, vehicle wraps with satin and glossy finish, and exhaust pipes.

Because of the coatings smoothness and hydrophobic properties, it can be easily cleaned with a deep gloss and high shine. Needless to say, a surface treated with a ceramic coating stays clean for an extended period.

Many places including detailers, car washes, and auto dealerships offer wax or standard paint sealants instead of ceramic coatings. It’s permanent and sacrificial barrier forms a lasting bond with the clear coat.

This barrier will not wear off, wash off, or delaminate, rather it can only be removed with abrasives such as wet sand and compound.

A single layer is apporximately 2 microns which makes it about 100 times thicker than any other paint protection product. This thick layer absorbs impacts and damage that would otherwise affect the factory-painted surface underneath.

This thickness of the coating can be increased by adding multiple layers making that film thicker and harder, thereby increasing it’s scratch resistance and depth. The harder coating prevents swirl marks and minor scratching and maintains the surfaces for years. These coatings are based on nanotechnology.

Benefits of a Professional Ceramic Coating Application

Reasons to apply ceramic coating:

  • Advanced invisible protection

  • Flawless finish

  • Harder than factory clear coat

  • Maximum durability

  • Stays clean longer and easy to maintain

  • Super glossy, candy-like finish

  • Unmatched hydrophobicity

Surfaces it can protect:

  • Carpet, fabric, and leather

  • Exterior plastic trim

  • Glass and Plexiglas

  • Metals

  • Vehicle’s painted surfaces

  • Wheels and calipers

It can protect against the following:

  • 1200 degrees fahrenheit heat resistance

  • Bugs and bird droppings

  • Hard water spots

  • Harsh chemicals

  • Minor scratching and swirls

  • Raod grime anmd fallout

  • Tree sap

  • UV rays

Great Choice for Auto Paint Coatings

The ceramic coating protection is now a proven technology that surpasses what other products offer in the automotive paint protection category. A lot of care must be taken to achieve professional results and to ensure proper bonding to the clear coat.

It must be applied in a closed and controlled enviroment, free of dust and flying particles, with appropriate lighting and temperatures no higher then 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Ignoring all these factors will most definitely lead to unsatisfactory results.

For the best level of protection appearance, and to keep the coats within your budget, the paint correction has to be completed before the paint coating is applied.
